Piper brings 20+ years of professional development experience and nonprofit leadership to Orr Group. Piper has established proven success in creating and implementing strategies for major individual giving, planned giving, annual fundraising campaigns, capital campaigns, corporate giving, and foundation giving. She brings this expertise to Orr Group and our nonprofit partners, along with her extensive experience leading high-performing teams, building long-term relationships with major gift prospects, and planning for multimillion-dollar revenue success. Piper is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE).

Experience

Most recently, Piper served as Chief Development Officer at No Labels, a D.C. based nonpartisan advocacy agency, where she was responsible for overseeing all facets of the development team, including revenue growth, major individual giving, annual donations, campaign giving, and fundraising strategy. In this role, she created and implemented a three-year business plan to increase annual revenue from $12 million to $33 million.

Prior to her work with No Labels, Piper served as Center Director for two International USO Centers serving the U.S. Armed Forces and their families, Director of Development and Senior Director of Development at United Service Organizations, Inc. (USO) for nearly a decade. During her time at USO, Inc., Piper oversaw and led the Major and Planned Gifts Development Office operations including, board strategy, major gifts, annual gifts, planned gifts, corporate relationships, foundation relations, Leadership Council & Legacy Society membership, program development and special events, raising $10 million+ annually, as well as developing three-year strategic plans, and strategizing with over 30 state-side centers across the country to substantially increase local revenue generation by aligning national resources.

Before joining USO, Inc., Piper worked for Convergent Nonprofit Solutions for nearly five years. In this role as a fundraising consultant, she successfully led and conducted feasibility studies and capital campaigns for nonprofit organizations, economic development corporations, and Housing Trusts across the U.S. to grow revenue generation.
