Emily has dedicated over two decades of her nonprofit career to public service and civic engagement with a particular focus on education. Since her appointment as Executive Director of NCTE in 2015, Emily has played a crucial role in ensuring that the nation’s oldest, and one of the largest literacy and education organizations, remains at the forefront of the key issues that are important to teachers’ and students’ rights and removes the barriers to inclusion and success.

Emily and the team at NCTE have partnered with Orr Group to initially design and now implement a strategy focused around building and sustaining fundraising, collaborating on development initiatives as embedded partners.
