About Tal As a Managing Director and member of the firm’s Impact Group, Tal collaborates with nonprofit leaders to understand their organizational needs, develop innovative solutions and strategies for success, and enhance their operations for greater impact. Prior to joining Orr Group, Tal served as Chief Executive Officer of Washington Nationals Philanthropies, where he oversaw the MLB team's official charitable arm. Under his leadership, the foundation supported children and families across the Washington, D.C. region primarily through innovative sport-based youth development programs and initiatives to increase access to healthy and affordable food. Tal joined the Washington Nationals in 2013 to spearhead the creation and implementation of the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy. He scaled the Academy to serve more than 1,300 children annually, offering comprehensive development programs that combined sport, academics, and mentorship. In 2018, Tal led a successful merger between the Academy and the Washington Nationals Dream Foundation, creating a new philanthropic entity designed to maximize the civic platform of the Nationals. This restructured entity not only expanded the reach of the Academy's programs but also facilitated the distribution of over 1,000,000 meals into the community through direct delivery and partnerships with food access organizations. Earlier in his career, Tal served as Director of Operations for PeacePlayers International, a nonprofit using basketball to foster leadership, bridge divides, and change perceptions in conflict zones globally. He also spent six years with Positive Coaching Alliance, an organization focused on transforming the culture of youth sports. Tal holds a master’s degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where he studied organizational leadership and non-profit management. He played collegiate baseball at Haverford College and continues to bring his passion for sports, leadership, and community development to all aspects of his work. He resides in Bethesda, MD with his wife and two children. I feel strongly about… I will challenge anyone to a game of Pop-A-Shot. Favorite Book Genre Historical Fiction
