About Sarah Sarah May works with Orr Group’s nonprofit partners to develop, implement, and execute innovative fundraising strategies to reach their goals. She brings a breadth of experience in higher education fundraising, with a strong focus on major and principal gifts, annual giving, stewardship and donor relations, pipeline development, planned giving, and volunteer management. Prior to joining Orr Group, Sarah May worked in development and alumni relations at Johns Hopkins University for nearly 17 years and most recently served as their Senior Associate Director of Development at the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences. Sarah May’s focus was on major gifts, largely from alumni in the Southeast, as well as Manhattan. She also led the stewardship and donor relations team, oversaw the Humanities Advisory Council, and partnered with faculty and colleagues on campaign fundraising, pipeline development, and strategic planning. In her time at Hopkins, Sarah May’s roles also involved volunteer management, special events, annual and mid-level giving, and program management.
