About Joanna Joanna Kadieva has over 11 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a proven track record of building sustainable revenue streams and donor relationships across diverse sectors, including nonprofit news, environmental advocacy, higher education, and cultural institutions. Prior to Orr Group, Joanna worked at Civic News Company, where she served as Director of Philanthropy for three key markets of Chalkbeat—New York City, Newark, and Philadelphia. In this role, she led strategic cultivation efforts for high-net-worth individuals and foundations. Throughout her career at organizations including Climate Group, ClientEarth, and Wave Hill, Joanna has demonstrated expertise across the full spectrum of development work, from membership and annual giving to grants and major gifts. Her approach consistently emphasizes strategic donor cultivation, data-driven decision making, and cross-functional collaboration with program and editorial teams. Joanna is deeply committed to strengthening the communities that have shaped her. She has taken on leadership roles in the organizations closest to her, applying the same strategic thinking and relationship-building skills from her professional work. She served for eight years on the board of the University of Chicago Alumni Club of NYC, holding roles including programming co-chair and vice president. As Reunion Chair for her 10th reunion in 2024, she propelled her class to achieve the highest level of participation. She currently serves on the alumni board of Brooklyn's Packer Collegiate Institute and on the advisory committee of the Central Park Track Club. For Joanna, giving back means showing up and driving results—creating meaningful engagement that ensures these institutions thrive for the next generations.
