About Jennifer

As a Managing Director and leader in the firm’s Impact Group, Jennifer works directly with organizations to understand their needs, design custom solutions and strategies for success, and enhance their operations for greater impact.

With 25 years of experience leading business and nonprofit organizations to achieve accelerated growth and impact, Jennifer has firsthand experience navigating complex challenges and achieving ambitious revenue goals. She brings expertise in strategic planning, board and staff development, frontline fundraising, national foundation and corporate partnerships, and financial management.

Prior to joining Orr Group, Jennifer served as the founding Chief Development Officer for Hope Chicago, a startup nonprofit committed to providing thousands of Chicago Public School students with debt-free postsecondary access and support. Jennifer built the necessary infrastructure, team, and systems while implementing revenue strategy and solicitations to secure $100M in funding in less than three years.  

Previously, Jennifer held executive leadership roles at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab and Chicago’s NPR affiliate, WBEZ. At each organization, she was responsible for guiding Board development, revenue strategy, and frontline fundraising to successfully achieve transformational philanthropic campaigns. Her deep understanding of the national and regional philanthropic landscape, coupled with firsthand experience delivering results, makes her a trusted partner for organizations in critical moments of growth.

Jennifer holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and resides in Chicago, IL, with her husband and two children.
