About Brian As a Director, Brian collaborates with nonprofit partners to achieve their greatest and most ambitious fundraising initiatives including fundraising campaigns, major gifts strategy and pipeline development, and executive leadership engagement. Brian has spent his professional career at the intersection of nonprofit fundraising and strategy, specializing in building capacity through data-driven major donor engagement strategies, comprehensive leadership development, and analytical reasoning. Historically, Brian has partnered with nonprofits in social and human services, advocacy, education, and the LGBTQ+ sectors across the United States. At Orr Group, Brian is responsible for the strategic management of clients engaged in ambitious fundraising initiatives and campaigns. He mainly works with social and human services clients. Before Orr Group, Brian founded his own nonprofit consulting business, (BPA) Consulting, partnering with clients on development assessments, landscape and marketing research, and campaign fundraising initiatives. Brian has also worked at CCS Fundraising, where he gained in-depth experience in nonprofit strategic planning, feasibility studies, and data analytics, and executed comprehensive campaigns with goals between $8M-$110M. Brian has provided valuable insights to clients about individual, corporate, and foundation donors. He has helped organizations secure transformative support by employing comprehensive donor engagement and solicitation strategies, establishing robust campaign infrastructures, creating tailor-made fundraising collateral and proposals, collaborating closely with nonprofit volunteer leaders, and delivering nonprofit assessments that meet specific organizational needs. This work has resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars raised for current and previous clients. Before CCS, Brian garnered extensive expertise in higher education fundraising on the Principal and Major Gifts team at The University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. As a volunteer, Brian actively contributes to the LGBTQIA+ community. Brian is a National Board Director and Development Committee Chair at Gay For Good and serves as a volunteer on the Development Committee at the American LGBTQ+ Museum. Previously, at Denison University, he chaired the steering committee of the LGBTQIA+ Alumni Association and was a Board Trustee during a $250M comprehensive campaign. He also served as the Foundation Board Associate for the American College Personnel Association’s Foundation during a $500,000 campaign.
