Partnering with Orr Group for their CEO search, Trees for the Future successfully navigated a critical leadership transition, enabling the organization to continue its mission of sustainable land use training and prepare for future growth.

Challenge

Trees for the Future (TREES) had recently experienced significant growth and had ambitious plans for the future. Recognizing the need to upgrade its infrastructure to prepare for this anticipated growth, and because of its recently restructured leadership team, TREES created a new CEO position to oversee all staff, programs, and operations. To bridge this transition, TREES put in place an interim CEO while undergoing a comprehensive search for a permanent hire, which included hiring an executive search firm to lead the effort.

Solution

TREES partnered with Orr Group for its CEO search. Orr Group took charge of the entire process, managing activities such as search, marketing, interviews, candidate selection, reference checks, and onboarding. In collaboration with TREES’ Executive Search Committee, Orr Group identified seven (7) prospective candidates for the CEO position. Over a four-month period, the search was conducted diligently, and a new CEO was successfully hired and onboarded to lead TREES into the future.
