Challenge

Prospect Park Alliance (PPA), founded in 1987 to restore and sustain Brooklyn’s iconic Prospect Park, faced a critical need to strengthen its fundraising infrastructure. Despite a database of over 10,000 supporters, the organization lacked a clear understanding of donor capacity and needed to grow its major gift pipeline. PPA also sought to translate a bold campaign vision into a compelling case for support, setting the stage for an ambitious $100 million fundraising campaign.

Solution

To address these needs, PPA partnered with Orr Group to conduct an in-depth wealth screen and donor analysis, identifying high-capacity individuals within and beyond its existing base. Orr Group built a robust prospect pipeline and implemented a moves management system that assigned tailored ask strategies to top prospects.

Following this foundational work, PPA conducted a campaign planning and feasibility study, which reaffirmed the need to expand the major gift pipeline and refine the campaign’s messaging. Orr Group later reengaged to provide campaign management support focused on increasing annual funds, building endowment support, and securing funding for capital improvements.
