About Gretchen Gretchen collaborates with nonprofit leaders to understand their needs, develop innovative approaches, and enhance organizational processes to advance their missions and accelerate impact. She serves as a key member of the firm's Impact Group, dedicated to identifying and addressing the needs of our nonprofit partners while promoting our best practices and perspectives across the sector. Gretchen is a nonprofit executive with over 20 years of experience in foreign policy, international diplomacy, and global entrepreneurship. She brings a wealth of experience in federal government program management, operations, compliance, and fund development. As a trusted advisor to government entities and international organizations, Gretchen combines deep policy expertise with strategic business acumen to drive measurable impact. Prior to joining Orr Group, Gretchen was a Senior Advisor and the former Chief Finance and Revenue Officer at the Atlantic Council, a foreign policy think tank based in Washington, DC. There, she was responsible for financial management and strategic business development growth for the organization. Before her time at the Council, Gretchen was the Vice President for Global Programs at the Meridian International Center, where she quadrupled division revenue and tripled the staff during her tenure. Prior to that, Gretchen worked with USAID’s Bureau for Global Health and as Assistant Director for the Center of Science and Technology Policy at George Mason University’s School of Public Policy, where she was the founding Managing Editor of the academic journal, “INNOVATIONS: Technology | Governance | Globalization”, published by MIT Press. Gretchen currently serves on the board of directors of Cultural Vistas and the Junior League of Washington. She previously served on the boards of the Rotary Club of Dupont Circle, Atlas Service Corps, and the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation.
