About Michael Michael brings 25 years of experience working with domestic and global leaders across business and government, as well as civil society and philanthropy. He has deep experience across issues and also disciplines that span strategic planning, cross-sector partnerships, philanthropy, fundraising, government relations, communications, and advocacy. Currently, Michael is the founding Chief Executive Officer of Mountain Philanthropies. Prior to becoming Mountain CEO in June 2017, Michael maintained a highly selective consulting practice serving institutional and family foundations, multinational companies, non-profit organizations, ultra-high net worth individuals, and government agencies. Michael continues to serve on several boards and/or as a senior advisor to numerous entities. Previous to that, Michael served as Deputy Executive Director for the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition, Deputy Director for Global Health Policy & Advocacy at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and as Senior Vice President of the United Nations Foundation. As a Sr. Advisor, Michael provides select counsel outside of his Mountain role to the Orr Group team and its clients.
