About Andrea

Andrea is an applied developmental psychologist and thought leader with expertise in nonprofit strategy, leadership development, and cultural transformation. As a Managing Director, Andrea partners with nonprofit leaders to better understand their needs, collaborate on new approaches, and evolve organizational processes to advance their missions and accelerate impact.

Prior to joining Orr Group, Andrea was a leader at Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) for over 10 years, where she oversaw the development of engaging program content, the Girl Scout Research Institute, and used data-driven insights to advance the interests and needs of girls, the organization’s national strategy and the creation of new partnerships, and integrate relevant, mission-based solutions. During her tenure, Andrea served as the spokesperson for GSUSA, led the organization’s inclusive program practices and provided the developmental expertise that powers the popular Raising Awesome Girls website.

After leaving GSUSA, Andrea most recently worked closely with a variety of early-stage, technology companies--including Tribal Planet, SkillsVR, B Generous, and TAG--focused on driving social good through their best in class, digital experiences in areas including mental health and wellness, DEI, philanthropy and education.

Andrea speaks as an authority on child development and parenting, social-emotional wellness and mental health, collaborative leadership, and diversity, equity and inclusion. Over the years, her work has been published in numerous academic volumes and peer-reviewed journals in the fields of child and adolescent development. Her expertise has earned her media appearances on The Today Show, Good Morning America, Fox News, CNN, NPR, BuzzFeed, and Mashable, and in publications including The Associated Press, Washington Times, Fast Company, Huffington Post, and Parents Magazine.
