Lila Jane joined Orr Group in 2019 with over 15 years of experience as an operations and nonprofit leader, where she has advanced cross-sector partnerships with the world’s leading institutions and philanthropists in service of education, innovation, social justice, and economic opportunity.

Lila Jane combines continuous improvement and design thinking techniques to generate solutions that are user-centric and data-informed. She focuses on strategic fundraising, talent development, and data-driven decision making to amplify nonprofit management and development.

Experience

Prior to joining Orr Group, Lila Jane was the Senior Director of Development Operations at The Future Project, establishing the organization’s inaugural development team to manage $14M in partnerships across 45+ sites in 11 cities. At the NYC Department of Education’s Division of Teaching and Learning, Lila Jane oversaw the division’s cumulative budget of $350M+, ensuring fiscal integrity and efficacy in delivering high-quality programming to 1.1 million students across 1,800 schools. Invited to serve as a Carnegie Foundation’s continuous improvement leader, she created and refined finance and grants management systems in partnership with The Fund for Public Schools to support $15M+ in grant funding annually.

Before joining the NYCDOE, Lila Jane advanced Foundation and Corporate partnerships at Candid (formerly The Foundation Center) and The Children’s Aid Society, learning and leading strategic planning, regional-to-national systems infrastructure refinement, grant writing, and impact reporting for initiatives spanning education, public heath, international transparency, and data governance.
