As an Associate at Orr Group, Blake supports his nonprofit partners by providing development management, including conducting research, analyzing data, managing project deliverables, developing outreach materials and strategy, and assisting with overall fundraising efforts.
Before joining Orr Group full-time, Blake was an intern at the firm for 6 months, gaining experience in landscape research, managing donor pipelines, and developing outreach materials. Prior to his internship, Blake worked as a Media Relations Associate with Marin Restorative Communications, a start-up communications agency specializing in purpose-driven communications programs related to climate-beneficial food and agriculture organizations.
While studying at William & Mary, Blake was elected to be an Honors Fellow by the College’s English Department and received a grant to conduct research and develop an Honors Thesis. Blake wrote his thesis on the Absurd aesthetic, describing a theory of art framed in through Existentialism in which art achieves “success” or significance through spaces of incongruency which force a critical observation of the piece or text.

When I’m not working…
I’m typically playing pick-up basketball, playing with my Border Collie, or trying out new recipes. As an avid foodie, I love to cook, and my specialties include a variety of curries and southwest barbecue. My chicken tinga tacos are to die for!
