In her role as Director, Amy helps Orr Group’s clients develop and execute strengths-based development strategies and improve their positioning in the philanthropic sector. She brings 15 years of experience in fundraising, communications, and nonprofit leadership, and a proven track record of increasing revenue, improving donor relations, and designing integrated marketing campaigns that demonstrate organizations’ impact and potential.
Prior to joining Orr Group, Amy led development for human rights, women’s rights, and social justice organizations. Most recently, she served as the National Director of Development at NAMI (the National Alliance for Mental Illness) where she led an individual giving program that nearly doubled revenue in just three years. Before joining NAMI, Amy served as an independent consultant and contractor for nonprofit startups while also working on an Emmy-nominated documentary and an audio storytelling project. She has also served as the Director of Development for the Enough Project at the Center for American Progress and at Just Associates (JASS), an international women’s movement-building organization.
Amy brings passion, creativity, and strategic thinking to everything she does—whether it’s building organizations’ fundraising capacity, leading high-performing teams, or working with executive leadership to identify opportunities for greater growth and impact. Her experience spans individual, foundation, and corporate relations and includes annual fund development, direct marketing, planned giving, major gifts, and digital strategy.
