The future is looking optimistic for the field of philanthropy!
To attempt to define and better understand the trends in the nonprofit sector that have evolved over the past year, Orr Group conducted a survey to learn more about how nonprofit organizations are approaching planning and strategy, fundraising, campaigns, and talent and culture.
With over 75 nonprofit organizations responding, our findings paint an optimistic future for the field of philanthropy. Here are some of our most encouraging findings:
- Organizations are continuing to rely on philanthropy with most organizations stating that the COVID-19 pandemic had a positive impact on philanthropic revenue.
- Those organizations currently in campaigns feel confident that they are on pace to meet their fundraising goals. Similarly, there is a lot of opportunity for organizations to get ahead of their fundraising goals if they leverage planned giving as a component of their campaign.
- An overwhelming number of participants have established an organizational commitment to creating a more diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace. The majority said that they were also prioritizing their recruitment and retention and learning and development efforts.
