Partner Expansion Spotlight: Queens Public Library Foundation
The Queens Public Library Foundation (QPLF) was created in 1988 to raise funds for the programs and services provided by Queens Public Library. Queens Public Library is one of the largest and busiest public library systems in the United States, dedicated to serving the most ethnically and culturally diverse area in the country. An independent, non-profit organization founded in 1896, Queens Public Library offers free access to a collection of more than 5 million books and other materials in multiple languages, technology and digital resources, and tens of thousands of educational, cultural, and civic programs annually. Nearly every Queens resident lives within a mile of one of the Library’s 66 locations, and the Library’s virtual offerings have grown significantly during the course of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Orr Group is thrilled to build upon our multi-year partnership with QPLF to provide event planning and fundraising support as the organization seeks to redesign and reimagine its Spring 2021 Gala in a virtual setting. Due to the impact of the pandemic on in-person gatherings, QPLF recognizes the need to pivot its annual Gala to a virtual event. Orr Group has been selected for planning and execution support. Over the course of this engagement, we will work alongside QPLF leadership to design an event strategy that meets and exceeds stakeholder expectations and to provide production and fundraising execution and support.
Over the course of our relationship with QPLF, we have partnered to design, lead and execute the various aspects of QPLF’s fundraising program. We have provided interim staffing, implemented a new annual fund engagement strategy, developed corporate donor relations and built a major gifts program. We look forward to partnering with QPLF on this new scope of work.
