A Message from Steve and Carol Orr: We’re Now Orr Group
Time for a Change
When we launched our fundraising gala production business back in 1991, we had little idea how it would grow and evolve over the years! We knew we wanted to put into practice ideas learned at Goldman Sachs and from our experience in the for-profit sector. We had seen the power of data-driven analysis and a focus on return on investment. We also knew hiring the right people was going to be critical. Inspired by the multitude of issues needing attention in our country, we were passionate about helping nonprofits raise more money to fund their vital missions.
Fast forward almost thirty years and the fundamentals of our business haven’t changed much. It’s still all about people and relationships. And as our own children, Steve Jr., Casey, and CJ have grown up and found their place in the world, so has our business. We are very proud of the fact that CJ joined the business 5 years ago and now serves as our Chief Operating Officer.
Our Work Has Expanded
From focusing on galas and high-profile fundraising events, our work has expanded to encompass serving in embedded leadership roles, building fundraising and advisory boards, developing major gifts teams, helping to run multi-million and even billion-dollar campaigns, and representing several giving-pledge donors.
With that evolution in mind, we’ve decided it is time to hit “refresh” on our name and the face we show to the world. Our new name, Orr Group, logo and website launch today! We’ve packed the web site with informational videos that are not just designed to communicate the benefits of partnering with us but are also designed to share knowledge and insights gleaned over the last 30 years in nonprofit strategy, fundraising, leadership, campaigns, and events. And we’ve included some kind words from our partners at Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy, Ronald McDonald House NY, and Urban Alliance.
What We Represent
In acknowledgement of the importance of our people to accomplish our unique mission at Orr Group, we chose to feature our staff throughout the website and in our marketing materials – no anonymous models or stock photos. Our design agency designed and animated our new logo to convey “surprise, the unexpected, looking beyond what’s obvious.”
The bulls-eye reinforces Orr Group’s laser-sharp focus on goals, outcomes, and deliverables. The color palette of orange, blue, and grey is modern and bright, while at the same time conveying professionalism and seriousness. These are values we live every day.
We plan to keep innovating in fundraising for the next 30 years and more! Although our name, logo and look are new, our commitment to our nonprofit partners hasn’t changed. We hope you’ll still be with us in thirty years’ time!Steve and Carol Orr
